AQUAFY GEAR PUMP CHEMICAL FEED SYSTEMSGear pumps are self-priming positive displacement pumps that produce a non-pulsating flow and require lower net positive suction head (NPSH) to operate. The gear pump is a precision machine with extremely tight fits and tolerances, and is capable of working against high differential pressures. They are ideal for metering, transfer, and circulation of difficult process fluids. Gear pumps are a popular alternative to other pumping technologies, such as diaphragm pumps, peristaltic pumps and piston metering pumps. Gear pumps have a simple principle of operation, which makes them easy to understand and repair.Gear pumps offer: compactness, simplicity of design, easy serviceability, bi-directional flow capability, ability to self-prime, pulseless flow, low NPSHR (net positive suction head required), high MTBM (mean time between maintenance), high-pressure and high-temperature capability, precise and accurate metering, and availability in multiple seal configurations or sealless mag-drives. |

ControlsWhen operating gear pumps without feedback, the capacity is dependent on differential pressure as well as chemical viscosity. By adding flowmeters with analog outputs capable of down to 0.25% accuracy coupled with PID controls, gear pumps can achieve accuracies in the range of 0.5% to 2.0%. In addition, tremendous adjustability is available with gear pumps when matched with DC motors coupled with SCR controllers capable of 20:1 turndowns or AC inverter vector duty motors coupled with closed loop vector VFD controllers capable of 1000:1 turndowns. Feedback from a process signal (pH analyzer, chlorine residual analyzer, etc.) as well as pump speed control directly from SCADA can also be used. |

Systems FabricationAquafy partners with a quality systems builder to ensure the highest quality of equipment designed to last. With over 45 years of combined fabrication experience, the workmanship is second to none. Experience ensures that components are easily accessible by operation and maintenance staff and laid out in a logical manner. Factory testing of all equipment allows for customer piece of mind. The systems builder is a TSSA certified facility. The certified piping fabricators are required to undergo a welding certification test annually to renew their qualifications to assure their skills meet the guidelines set forth by TSSA and ASME. The benefits of utilizing a TSSA certified facility includes: quality assurance through stringent documentation control throughout the fabrication process; all pressure piping is constructed to the ASME and CSA B51 pressure piping code; upon completion of the fabricated piping, every pressure piping section is hydrostatically tested and witnessed by a TSSA authorized inspector; quality control program developed in accordance with ASME B31.1 Power Piping, ASME B31.3 Process Piping, and CSA B51 Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Pressure Piping codes, which is monitored by TSSA; 100% visual examination of all fabricated items, with Non-Destructive Examination (NDE), Radiography (X-ray) Examination for Groove or “Butt” Welded joints, and Positive Material Identification (PMI) also available. |
